Rural/Underserved Opportunities Program (R/UOP)

You may also participate in R/UOP:

  • This four-week program enables students to work one-on-one with a preceptor in a rural or urban underserved community in Washington.
  • Students will be provided with room and board arrangements and a stipend to cover additional living expenses.
  • There are a number of R/UOP locations throughout the WWAMI region.

Pathway Programs

Learn more information about the Pathway Programs during the third and fourth years. One note: WWAMI Spokane students can enroll in the TRUST (Targeted Rural Underserved Track) program prior to their first year.

List of WWAMI-Based Non-Clinical Selectives

4.0 credits of non-clinical selective courses are required to graduate. Take a look at the list of possible opportunities to fulfill this requirement during the first year. Global Health is teleconferenced from Seattle during the fall, the Stress Management Workshop is a simple, relaxing way to fulfill part of it, and the Medical Spanish course is open for people of all skill levels.

UWSOM Med Student Wiki

The med student wiki is an excellent resource for old practice exams, study materials, or other information. Most of the information is based in Seattle but is still very helpful.
