How does Spokane's Academic Health Sciences Center fit into Washington's health care system?
The Riverpoint Campus is home to students in many health-related disciplines. WSU teaches nursing, pharmacy, speech and hearing sciences and nutrition and exercise physiology students. It creates health care administrators. WSU and the University of Washington train medical students. Eastern Washington University prepares people for dental and dental hygiene careers. It trains physical and occupational therapists. The UW teaches students to be physician assistants.
These students go on to jobs all around Washington and they have a big impact on the state economy.
