Healing health care through team care
What we’re doing
With Project 10 to the 100th, the Google Foundation has called for ideas to change the world by helping as many people as possible.
WSU Health Sciences has submitted an idea. Our concept is to “Heal Health Care through Team Care” by harnessing the power of health information technology.
We'll teach a new generation of health professions to work as a team and use the new knowledge we find through research in electronic medical records and public health records.
We'll build connections for a healthier world: not only among the health professions, but also among human and animal health, urban and rural, individual and public health records.
This idea builds on
- Our growing health sciences campus in Spokane and its new “team care” culture,
- The innovative health IT resources Spokane has in Inland Northwest Health Services,
- WSU’s traditional strengths in animal and agricultural health, and
- Spokane's collaborative community spirit.
We're proposing Spokane as a “connected community care laboratory” —the test-bed and model for an idea to spread throughout the world.
How the contest works
Google employees will screen all the ideas submitted and choose the best 100.
If our idea makes it through that first cut, it goes to a public worldwide vote, beginning Jan. 27, 2009. We’ll call on you at that time to have everyone you know, and all their friends and relations, cast a vote for our idea!

You can help our idea rise to the top throughout the process by spreading the word.
