WSU Health Sciences:
Learn to be part of a team
Traditionally, doctors, nurses and other health care professionals have been trained to focus on their own part of the medical process, without regard to the other parts.
At WSU Spokane, we're breaking down the barriers between disciplines by focusing on a team approach to health care, education and research. You'll see nutrition and exercise physiology students working with future pharmacists and nurses to conduct health screenings. In the Clinical Performance and Simulation Lab, you may find a team of student nurses and pharmacists immersed in a patient simulation exercise, testing their skills on a life-like manikin. And first-year medical and dentistry students rub elbows often as they learn the foundations of medicine.
