Planning, design and construction projects are everywhere in the University District as the community’s vision for a live/learn/work/play center continues to expand. If you know of projects near the Riverpoint Campus that should be listed, email communications@wsu.edu, send us a link via Twitter @WSUSpokane, or come put a note and link on our Facebook wall at www.spokane.wsu.edu/fb.

Biomedical/Health Sciences Building: With the first half of the funding secured, construction is underway. WSU and Spokane community leaders are asking state legislators to complete the funding by allocating another $35 million during the 2012 session. It's WSU’s top priority for the capital budget.
Campus Housing
The WSU Board of Regents has voted to sell the Jensen-Byrd building and 1.48 acres of adjacent property for $2.85 million to Austin, Texas-based Campus Advantage. The company plans to remove the current structure and use some of its materials for a 425-bed student housing facility. It is currently working with the city to secure the necessary permits for the project.- More about the sale of Jensen-Byrd

Development Partnerships at Riverpoint
WSU is investigating options for property development that support the vision of the Riverpoint Campus as America’s next great Academic Health Science Center and the campus vision and goals identified in the master plan update completed in 2009.
WSU will identify other priorities for uses that complement neighboring business and property owners and campus operations, and will strategize with local leaders concerning approaches that will move private development forward in partnership with the campus.
