Dr. Nicholas Lovrich
Profile
Nicholas P. Lovrich Jr. has been the Claudius O. and Mary W. Johnson Distinguished Professor of Political Science since 1998 and has served as the director of the Division of Governmental Studies and Services at Washington State University for the past 29 years.
The division provides applied research services to agencies of federal, state, and local government; promotes faculty and graduate student research; and publishes reports and produces manuscripts for publication in professional journals in political science and criminal justice.
Dr. Lovrich holds a BA, cum laude, in International Relations from Stanford University, and the MA and PhD degrees in Political Science (comparative politics, political psychology, and public administration subfields) from UCLA.
He has chaired the PhD dissertation committees of 23 students who have gone on to academic careers at such institutions as Florida State University, Arizona State University, North Carolina State University, Montana State University, Boise State University, University of Texas at El Paso, University of Nevada, Bradley University, University of Illinois, and the University of Arkansas.
