Master of Architecture (M.Arch)
The nationally accredited Master of Architecture degree offers the ultimate preparation for professional practice in architecture.
You'll engage in design studios and coursework in architectural design, site design, structures, technology, and history and theory.
A distinct competitive advantage
One of the program's key strengths is its participation in the Interdisciplinary Design Institute—an opportunity for students in architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture to reinforce disciplinary knowledge and skills, while gaining an in-depth understanding of interdisciplinary areas such as people and place, history, theory and criticism and digital design.
The unique learning experiences offered at the Interdisciplinary Design Institute place students at a distinct competitive advantage in a dynamic marketplace.
The program is offered in three tracks:
Track one
This 1.5 year program (3 semesters plus summer) is specifically for students that have a four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from WSU or a professional accredited degree (B Arch) from a university in the U.S.
Track two
This 2.5 year (5 semesters plus summer) program that is available for students who have a four-year undergraduate pre-professional degree in architecture from a U.S. university or its equivalent. Track 2 is also available for students who need additional technical coursework and or additional studio work.
Track three
This 3.5 (7 semesters plus summer) program for students who have an undergraduate degree in a non-architectural field.
Campuses
Students in Track 1 can study at either the Spokane or Pullman campus, while all Track 2 students will study in Spokane. Students in Track 3 can also study at either campus but will complete two years of undergraduate pre-requisite work in Pullman before continuing the final 1.5 years in Spokane.
