Chris Coppin, MD, Ph.D.
Clinical Associate Professor
Dr. Coppin leads the college’s projects in curriculum design and development, and leads the faculty in curriculum delivery; while as a faculty member himself, he also chairs a course on cellular physiology.
As a former medical device industry executive, Dr. Coppin values the development of students into responsible professionals that promise immediate productivity upon entering the workforce, whether they are physicians or scientists. The best strategy for ensuring such productivity is to incorporate hands-on, practical experience into the curriculum, which is why Dr. Coppin is leading the College of Medical Sciences in building close educational ties with hospitals and industry.
Dr. Coppin also represents the Spokane campus on WSU’s Faculty Senate and is a member of its steering committee.
Outside of work, you will find Dr. Coppin outdoors enjoying nature in the beautiful Inland Northwest.
