Research Symposium

The Inland Northwest Research Symposium is an excellent opportunity  to interact with faculty and developing scholars from a variety of disciplines. This is a chance to view and discuss poster presentations by researchers and research teams and learn from experienced scholars during thought-provoking presentations.

Join us for a day of scholarship and discovery on the Riverpoint Campus and celebrate the advances in interdisciplinary and interprofessional research.

Program Highlights

11:00 a.m.     Research Poster Presentations (light lunch and refreshments served)

12:55 p.m.     Welcome

1:00 p.m.       Panel Discussion:  "The Impact of Poverty on Children"

2:15 p.m.       Keynote:  "Adverse Childhood Experiences, Complex Trauma,

                         and Public Health Responses"

3:00 p.m.       Facilitated Question and Answers with Keynote and Panel

3:50 p.m.       Closing Remarks

Featured speaker Chris Blodgett, associate scientist, research associate, and director of the Eastern Washington Area Health Education Center, will deliver the keynote address.

The panel of experts includes Patrick Jones, executive director for the Eastern Washington University Institute for Public Policy and Economic Analysis; Linda Stone, Eastern Washington director for the Children's Alliance; Jennifer Sherman, assistant professor of sociology at WSU Tri-Cities; Julie Postma, assistant professor of nursing at the WSU College of Nursing; and Tom Salsbury, assistant professor of literacy at the WSU College of Education.

Important information for presenters:

Posters will be displayed by noon Thursday, March 1 for viewing at the Health Care Team Challenge event scheduled the evening of March 1.  

Researchers are asked to stand by their posters on Friday, March 2 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
