Bob has been with WIMHRT since 1994. His principle research activities include the application of modern statistical techniques to data collected in community studies involving treatment of mental illness and substance abuse. A particular area of statistical expertise and interest is in the design and analysis of longitudinal data using random regression techniques and event analyses.
Dr. Short contributes extensively to collaborative efforts involving the preparing of grants to federal agencies and preparing articles for scientific journals. His main substantive research area is the study of coping mechanism in health care. Dr. Short has adjunct appointments with the Department of Statistics and with the College of Nursing. Additionally, Dr. Short works in the Research Department at Sacred Heart Medical Center as a biostatistician where he contributes primarily to efforts in cardiovascular research.
