Campus safety plan oversight
The university has placed the responsibility to review, update and support implementation of this Campus Safety Plan with the Riverpoint Safety Committee which meets on a monthly basis to examine safety conditions throughout campus. Topics from past meetings include the following:
- Pedestrian safety issues
- Health Sciences Building emergency egress improvement
- Parking lot security
- Speeding drivers through campus
- Evacuation maps throughout campus
- Timely Warnings
- Fire drill results
- Crisis Communication System
The monthly meeting minutes for the Riverpoint Safety Committee are posted at the Safety and Security web site.
The Riverpoint Safety Committee consists of administration, faculty, staff members and the Riverpoint Campus Security. The incoming Associated Student Presidents from WSU and EWU will be invited to attend the monthly meetings when the students return to campus.
The task force will annually review the campus safety plan and make a presentation to Cabinet. The safety plan will also be made available campus wide on the Safety and Security website.
Jon Schad, Director of Facilities, has appointed Tom McGill, Emergency Management Coordinator, as his designee to monitor and coordinate the Riverpoint Campus compliance.
