It is a common misconception that stormwater flows into sanitary sewer systems and is treated before being discharged to the Spokane River. Currently most of the stormwater generated at WSU Spokane is discharged directly to rivers and creeks without any treatment. WSU and the City have begun implementing improvements to their stormwater systems that will correct some of these deficiencies.
