Riverpoint uses a telephony service featuring Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
telephones on campus. These phones connect via the Riverpoint network and offer advanced features to our faculty and staff.

Benefits

Unlike a traditional analog phone, VoIP telephones send and receive calls using our data network, offering superior call quality and network flexibility to our faculty and staff. Our VoIP phone system offers four and five-digit calling on-campus; caller ID; a network-based calling directory; and Informacast, our Emergency Notification service.

Features

  •  Adding phone service on campus is easy. If your office or laboratory has a networked computer or an open network location, you are ready to get started. Simply complete and submit a Move, Add, Change Request to add one or more telephones.
  •  Our VoIP phones offer a large display and intuitive interface and users can customize their phone and voicemail settings. VoIP phones also offer a one-touch call directory and message retrieval.
  •  Because VoIP phones are linked to our network, they offer advanced options. Users can participate in multiple line calls, forward calls, or have voicemail or missed call notifications sent to a mobile device.

For more information about our VoIP telephone service, contact the Technical Support Center, located on the first floor of the Academic Center (SAC Room 120). Rates

There are no costs associated with VoIP telephone use for Riverpoint faculty or staff calling locally. Long distance charges may apply to departments. VoIP devices must be purchased by individuals or departments; see our ITS Service Rates for details or contact the Technical Support Center for device pricing questions.
