Writing assistance: face-to-face
EWU Writing Center at Riverpoint
WSU Spokane students have access to this free service. Located in the Phase One Classroom Building, Room 211.
- Sign up online (or call 509-828-1303) to meet with a writing center staff member.
- Create a user ID and password, log in, then be sure to click "the appropriate term (i.e., Spring 2013)-Riverpoint Campus."
- Spring 2013 Hours: Monday 10:00-5:00, Wednesday 12:00-1:00 and 2:00-5:00, Saturday 11:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00. You'll be able to see the available times within the schedule.
Writing Center at EWU Cheney
- WSU Spokane students can also use the Writing Center on the EWU Cheney campus, which has more extensive hours.
- Appointments can be scheduled as above, but choose the Cheney campus.
Writing assistance: online
Graduate & Professional Writing Center (GPWC)
- This WSU Pullman service provides online writing consultations for WSU Spokane graduate and professional students only.
- Email the GPWC at gpwc@wsu.edu to schedule a consultation.

eTutoring
- This online tutorial program is availabe to all registered WSU students.
- Select "Western eTutoring Consortium," and then "Washington State University System" from the drop-down menu.
- You will receive help from a trained tutor in no longer than 24 hours.
- This program also provides help in math, statistics, accounting, and biology, with a 48-hour response time.
Academic Reinstatement:
Washington State University expects students to maintain academic standards of excellence and make satisfactory academic progress toward their degree objectives. Undergraduate students are in good academic standing if both their current WSU semester and cumulative grade point averages are 2.00 or above, and/or they are eligible to be enrolled. Students not meeting the criteria above are considered academically deficient.
Reinstatement process
- Check grades on zzusis
- Read the message on your zzusis portal page. This message identifies the regulation under which you are deficient.
Rule 38
First semester with below a 2.0 semester or cumulative gpa
- Complete a reinstatement application, including a personal statement. Details.
- Turn in application (and pay fee) to WSU Spokane Student Affairs.
- You must document attendance in any summer school courses, whether at WSU or another institution.
- Courses for the next semester (excluding summer) will be cancelled if an application has not been received and approved by the listed deadline.
Rule 39
Students with any third semester (excluding summer and winter terms) cumulative gpa below 2.0.
- Students will be dismissed and courses for the next semester (excluding summer) will be canceled. There is no early reinstatement process.
- Students who are dismissed are required to remain out of WSU for two consecutive semesters and cannot seek non-degree student status.
- Students may continue to take summer courses at WSU.
