Incoming international students
Congratulations on your acceptance to Washington State University Spokane! The staff of the Student Affairs Office wants to welcome you and looks forward to assisting you during your educational experience at the University. We value your contribution to the campus community, as we will learn from each other by sharing ideas and cultural heritage. We encourage you to seek out opportunities to learn about the U.S. culture as well as teaching others about your background and society.
The New International Student Orientation will help you become oriented to WSU Spokane and the surrounding community. Fall 2012 orientation will be on Wednesday, August 15 at 2:30 pm. If you arrive in Spokane before that date, stop by the Student Affairs office (Academic Center 130) to pick up an information packet and have your picture taken for your photo ID card.
Attendance at the orientation is required for all incoming international students new to WSU. If you are unable to arrive in Spokane by August 15, please contact Liz West immediately.
On arrival in Spokane
Wednesday, August 15: International student orientation
- 2:30 pm: Maintaining legal status (Bring your passport, I-20, I-94 and visa). Discussion of medical insurance, health services, ESL services, counseling and career services (Mandatory for international students new to Washington State University)
- 3:30 pm: How to be a successful student at WSU Spokane
Sunday, August 19: General student orientation
- New Student Orientation from 2 to 4 pm - Come to an open house to learn about support services available to students at WSU Spokane. Some academic departments will also be holding orientation for their new students in conjunction with this orientation.
Monday, August 20: Classes begin
