PROGRAMS

The ASWSU Spokane provides many programs to Spokane campus students. If you feel there is a student need not being met by the following programs, please contact the ASWSU Spokane office at spok.aswsu@wsu.edu or 509-358-7921 with comments or suggestions.

Travel Grants

ASWSUS travel grants are intended to help students travel for the purposes of scholarly activity, research and in presentation at significant professional meetings. The grants can be used only to defray travel expenses not covered by other sources the expenses include, but are not limited to, transportation, lodging, and registration fees. For more information, please click here.

Family Programming

In replacement of the Daycare Subsidy, ASWSUS will now be offering programs and events that cater specifically to families. As this is new to ASWSUS, students are encouraged to provide their feedback on programs and events they feel are important.

Readership Program

Free copies of both the Spokesman Review and USA Today are provided to Spokane students daily. These newspapers are available in each of the Riverpoint campus academic buildings: the Academic Center, Nursing, Phase One, and Health Sciences.

UCommute

As part of the green initiative for WSU Spokane, UCommute helps encourage you to reduce the number of commutes daily. Mycommute.org is a place where you can keep track of how you get to campus each day. All you have to do is log the days you use a commute alternative to or from the University District, which is easy to do online! Check it out at mycommute.org with the WSU school code 7TCRR!

Zimride

Zimride is a ride sharing program that allows for WSU students, faculty, and staff to arrange carpools. These carpools can either be regular commutes to campus or fun trips to Seattle! Check it out at zimride.wsu.edu!

STA Bus Passes

Students now ride free thanks to ASWSU funding.

Fitness Memberships: OZ Fitness OR the YMCA

In lieu of a fitness center, Spokane students are offered subsidized memberships to either OZ Fitness OR the YMCA. Students are only allowed to sign up for one club membership not both. Fall semester sign-ups will take place in the lobby of the Student Academic Center with dates to be determined. After this, students can sign up in the ASWSUS office in SAC 111. The OZ Fitness membership fee is $35 per semester and the YMCA membership fee is $42.40 per semester. The memberships will allow the student to access all club Spokane locations specific to their club membership.

  • Fall Semester Sign-ups will begin: TBD
