Chancellor’s Excellence in Interprofessional Education and Scholarship Award

The Office of the Chancellor and Vice President for Health Sciences presents this award to honor a faculty member who exemplifies leadership in interprofessional education and/or scholarship in collaborative teamwork to impact the health of individuals and communities.

Eligibility

WSU Health Sciences faculty members with appointments in any of the tracks who teach health sciences students.

Criteria

The Chancellor’s Excellence in Interprofessional Education and Scholarship Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates leadership in development and implementation of effective interprofessional learning experiences or scholarship on the effectiveness and impact of interprofessional education. Activities recognized by this award may include outstanding singular accomplishments or a record of excellence over a period of years, demonstrated through one or more of the following:

  • Engagement and stimulation of student interest in team-based healthcare delivery
  • Use of new and innovative teaching methodologies to develop, practice and refine team skills and promote interaction among students from different professions
  • Publication in scientific outlets of original scholarship on interprofessional education and team-based healthcare delivery
  • Integration of health equity and cultural competency training into the interprofessional experiences

Application and Review Process

Nominators are asked to submit a narrative describing the candidate’s accomplishments as per above and the candidate’s CV. The narrative should be comprehensible by a health sciences instructor whose area of expertise differs from that of the candidate. It should be a maximum of one page/500 words. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee of WSU Spokane faculty who are involved in interprofessional education.
