ADVANCE and VAuLTS (Value-Based Academic Leadership Trajectories for Women in STEM Presentation

January 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

ADVANCE and VAuLTS (Value-Based Academic Leadership Trajectories for Women in STEM Northwest Regional Partnership) presents on Jan. 29

Presentation by M. A. Gartstein, PhD, Director of ADVANCE at WSU and Professor, Department of Psychology

January 29, 2020, Noon-1 pm, TBD on WSU Health Sciences Spokane campus

Join via Zoom: Link to follow, available soon

Dr. Gartstein will describe WSU’s efforts to achieve institutional transformation toward a more inclusive/faculty-friendly environment through support for individual faculty members, including women faculty in traditional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) disciplines and medicine (STEMM), as well as diverse faculty in any discipline through grant opportunities, workshops, and more. Learn about WSU’s new NSF ADVANCE Partnership Award-VAuLTS-that addresses advancement inequities seen as women in STEM linger at lower mid-career ranks longer than their male counterparts, sometimes indefinitely.

VAuLTS addresses this inequity by empowering a cadre of change agents to implement strategies aimed at eliminating systemic barriers women face on the path to the highest ranks of the professoriate in diverse higher education settings in the Pacific Northwest.
