Biomedical Seminar Series

September 19, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

“Breast cancer metastasis- Biological implications and therapeutic opportunities ” will be presented by, Vivek Mittal, Ph.D., a professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Weill Cornell Medical College.

Understanding the metastatic cascade in breast cancer has been a central focus of Dr. Mittal’s lab over the past decade. This research has led to the identification of specific biological mechanisms (both cancer cell intrinsic and extrinsic) underlying key steps in breast cancer metastasis including tumor dissemination, colonization and progression into lethal macrometastases. He has collaborated extensively with researchers in the areas of biomedical engineering, bioinformatics and imaging to address overarching challenges in the area of breast cancer metastasis. These collaborations have led to development of novel technologies and the identification of critical pathways that regulate various steps in the metastatic cascade.

Biomedical Seminars are open to all at WSU Spokane and videoconferencing has been requested for the Pullman campus.

If you are interested in meeting with Dr. Mittal during his visit on Sept 19, please sign up here.   For questions, contact Breezy Tottenhoff.
