Biomedical Seminar Series Lecture
June 27, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
“Satiety quiescence in C. elegans: Falling asleep after a big meal” by Young-Jai You, Ph.D.
Dr. Young-Jai You is a Designated Associate Professor at Nagoya University in Nagoya, Japan in the Division of Biological Science. Her lab aims to understand how animals control behavior depending on their metabolic states. They found satiety quiescence in C. elegans that mimics post-prandial sleep in mammals. Using this behavior as an output, they are investigating the neuro-molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic regulations of feeding and locomotive activity.
Biomedical Seminars are open to all members of the WSU Spokane campus and available via AMS (dial in information is 4804170). For questions, contact Bin Shan.
