Cougs in the Community-painting project

April 23, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

WSU Spokane’s “Cougs in the Community” is looking for more student, staff, and faculty volunteers to join a city of Spokane clean-up effort in the East Central Neighborhood just south of campus between 8 a.m. and noon on Saturday, April 23.

WSU Spokane has been assigned the project of painting over graffiti on the exterior of three businesses at 1915 E. Sprague Ave., and freshening up the paint on the building doors and windows. This is one of over 30 neighborhood projects that will be tackled by various groups of volunteers that morning.

All Coug volunteers will receive a “Cougs in the Community” t-shirt. Please dress in layers of clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty, and wear sturdy shoes. Painting and supplies will be provided on site. Please register to volunteer either through CougSync: https://orgsync.com/124896/opportunities/1449225/occurrences/3309422 or by contacting Elysia Spencer at elysia.spencer@wsu.edu or 358-7864.

If you are interested in carpooling from campus, please let Spencer know, and if not, please show up at the work site. More information about the volunteer effort, known as Spokane Gives, is located on the city’s web site here: https://my.spokanecity.org/news/stories/2016/03/31/cleaning-from-the-corridor/
