Inland Northwest Research Symposium

INRS features student, faculty, and community posters and panel discussion on cannabis research.

A panel discussion about some of the effects of legalized marijuana in Washington, Oregon and Colorado will be part of this year’s annual WSU Spokane Inland Northwest Research Symposium on Friday, April 14, in the EWU Center on campus. The INRS opens at 8 a.m. for registration and refreshments and the program kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with a welcome and panelist presentations. The poster presentation session is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The panelists are all working in lead positions on funded research regarding marijuana legalization and its effects on public health and public safety. Panelists are:

  • Adam Darnell, Ph.D., Washington State Institute for Public Policy
  • Julia Dilley, Ph.D., OregonHealth and Multnomah County
  • Ashley Brooks-Russell, Ph.D., MPH, Colorado School of Public Health

After each panelist makes a presentation, a question-answer and discussion session will be moderated by Nick Lovrich, Ph.D., WSU Regents Professor and chair of WSU’s Committee on Cannabis Research and Outreach.
