Nursing-Cleveland Visiting Scholar Breakfast and Address

October 4, 2018 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

$20.00

The WSU College of Nursing welcomes Therese S. Richmond, Ph.D, CRNP, FAAN, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.

Dr. Richmond’s talk “Life is Fragile, Handle with Care,” will cover the psychological effects of trauma and how that affects recovery. She’s passionate about using nursing science to prevent injury and violence and improve outcomes, particularly in patients from vulnerable urban populations worldwide, those who live on the margins of society, have limited resources, or live in pervasively violent communities.

Her work is informed by an early clinical position in a Washington D.C. trauma ICU, and she went on to co-found what’s now a vibrant interdisciplinary center at the University of Pennsylvania, the Penn Injury Science Center.
