‘Stop the Bleed’ Training

March 22, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Providence Trauma Services will be at the College of Nursing in Spokane on March 22 to give a free “Stop the Bleed” training to any interested faculty, staff or students.

The goal is to educate the Spokane community about how to quickly and effectively stop bleeding in a trauma situation. The class is roughly 90 minutes and is aimed at teaching people how to correctly apply tourniquets and use gauze or makeshift gauze to control bleeding.

The Stop the Bleed Coalition is focused on raising awareness of how, with the proper training and materials, death from bleeding can be prevented. Mass casualty events often present with severe bleeding which, if left unattended, can quickly result in tragedy. By providing civilian bystanders with the skills and basic tools to stop uncontrolled bleeding in an emergency situation, lives can be saved.

When: March 22, 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Where: SNRS 005

RSVP: The session is free, but please email Wyatt Kittilstved so Providence knows how many people to expect.
