Webinar workshop – Functional Genomics at NCBI: High-throughput studies archived in Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO)
May 9, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
In this two-hour introductory webinar to GEO, you will learn about the content and organization of the GEO archive and individual records. In practical examples, attendees will explore data resulting from a strategy that researchers often utilize in functional genomic: perturbation of a single gene and its impact on global gene expression. Attendees will focus on two technologies that allow genome-wide quantitative gene expression assessment, namely microarrays and RNA-Seq.
When: Thursday, May 9, 10 a.m. to noon
This webinar workshop is hosted remotely and open to all WSU campuses and partnering institutions. Participants may register to join from their own computer, or they may attend from Terrell Library 20E computer lab in Pullman. Be prepared for active learning using NCBI GEO databases. Submit your questions in advance at the time of registration, or via chat during the webinar workshop.
