WSU New Community Standards Process Meeting

January 29, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

We invite you to attend an information session on Tuesday, January 29 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in SAC 345 that will provide staff and faculty with an overview of WSU’s new community standards process.

Extensive work has transformed our former student conduct process into a new vision of community standards that focuses on maintaining a safe, healthy, and inclusive campus.

Sessions are being held throughout the University so if you cannot make this date, you may participate via videconference with a session held at a different campus.

Student Information Session | 12:00–1:00 p.m. | Lunch provided
We will highlight the step-by-step process, student rights and responsibilities, available resources and tools, and potential sanctions or outcomes when community standards are violated.

Faculty and Staff Session | 1:00–2:00 p.m.

We will provide an overview of the new community standards process and discuss how faculty and staff members can support students when engaged in the process.

The schedules can be found here. The session for staff and faculty will highlight tools available to assist you in helping students who find themselves in the community standards process. There will also be a student session that highlights the step-by-step process, student rights and responsibilities, resources and tools available, and potential sanctions/outcomes when community standards are violated.

For more information, a new student handbook for community standards has been launched to guide all students. If you have any questions, please contact Jane Summers.
