WSU student group hosts candidate forum about science, policy, the opioid crisis

The Health Science Student Advocacy Association on campus – as a member of the Washington Science Policy Network (WASPN) – will be hosting a nonpartisan candidate forum on public health in the Lewis & Clark High School Auditorium, 521 W. 4th Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

The group has invited federal and state candidates for a comprehensive conversation on “Science, Policy and the Opioid Crisis in Eastern Washington.”

This event is free and open to the public. Ticket reservations are highly recommended and you may reserve a spot here.

As an organization, WASPN emphasizes the inherently political nature of science and that science and scientific careers exist in a deeply political landscape. The event is funded by a grant from Research!America.
