It is important to familiarize yourself with the nearest location of these items. AEDs can be found in all facilities. Additionally, Campus Security keeps an AED in the security vehicle.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-column\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n<div class=\"wsu-callout wsu-dropshadow--medium wsu-callout--style-basic wsu-border--add-top wsu-color-background--white wsu-border--color-crimson wsu-spacing-bottom--xmedium\" >\r\n        \n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading  wsu-font-size--large\">Quick Links<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/spokane.wsu.edu\/ehs\/\">Environmental Health &amp; Safety<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading  wsu-heading--style-marked\">Automated External Defibrillators&nbsp;(AED)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are portable devices designed to analyze a victim\u2019s heart rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock to restore normal heart rhythm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under <a href=\"https:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/index\/manuals\/safety-policies-procedures-manual\/sppm-2-46\/\">SPPM 2.46<\/a>, a person who uses a defibrillator at the scene of an emergency and all other persons and organizations providing emergency services under this policy are immune from civil liability for any personal injury that results from any act or omission in the use of the defibrillator. Supervisors are to ensure appropriate first aid supplies are maintained and stocked. Supervisors are required to review campus safety checklist with employes on first day<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General requirements and recommendations for first aid supplies are listed in the SPPM.
