Wireless Network Connection
The campus offers wireless access to our students, faculty, staff, campus guests, and visiting academic professionals.
Students, Faculty, Staff, Departments
WSU Spokane ITS operates four distinct wireless networks – the primary wireless Service Set Identifier (SSID) is listed as “WSU Wireless” and is designed for our students, faculty, and staff. This universal connection allows anyone from the five WSU campuses with a WSU Network ID to instantly access the wireless network, whether at their home campus or at any of the other four. That means no additional sign in, access requests, or guest user limitations for WSU students, faculty, and staff.
Our secondary SSID is listed as “Campus Visitor” and is accessible to campus guests. Our third is listed as “WiEWUs” and is designed for EWU students, faculty, and staff. Our fourth is listed as “eduroam” and offers wireless access to visiting academic professionals using the eduroam network access service. For more information about the eduroam program, see the eduroam website.
- Our “WSU Wireless” and “WiEWUs” wireless networks require only a Network ID or NetID and password to connect and are available to WSU and EWU students, faculty, and staff. For connection help, see our Wireless Guide (pdf).
- Our wireless network offers connections for 802.11a, 802.11g and 802.11n compatible devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
- Wireless access points are strategically located throughout the campus’ main buildings and outdoor pathways with special emphasis placed on classrooms and other gathering areas for increased access.
