We often use these styles to describe the in-text citations and references list of a manuscript, but they can also dictate the style\/structure of the entire manuscript or document, including title page, headings, headers, use of abbreviations, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some key resources to help you use these styles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">APA Style<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>APA Style is typically used in social sciences and Nursing. It relies on author last names to provide structure to the references list, and uses author-date parenthetical in-text citations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apastyle.apa.org\/blog\">APA Style Blog<\/a>: Helpful resource addressing many of the questions that aren\u2019t explicitly covered by APA Style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apastyle.apa.org\/instructional-aids\">Instructional Aids<\/a>: Provided by APA Style, these aids provide numerous examples, worksheets, and explanatory documents to support teaching and learning APA Style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/owl.purdue.edu\/owl\/research_and_citation\/apa_style\/apa_formatting_and_style_guide\/index.html\">Purdue Owl<\/a>: A long-time favorite resource, Purdue University\u2019s Online Writing Lab provides extensive documentation and examples on using APA Style.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-cta \" >\n\t<a \t\t\t\t\thref=\"https:\/\/searchit.libraries.wsu.edu\/permalink\/01ALLIANCE_WSU\/1rq08rk\/alma99900430154101842\"\t\n\t\tclass=\"wsu-button \">\n\t\t\t\n\t\tAPA Style Guide, 7th\u00a0Edition\t\t\t<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AMA Style<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>AMA Style is used in biomedical fields. It orders the references list sequentially in the order they appear in the text. In-text citations are inserted using superscript numbers, corresponding to the references list. These references can be exported directly from the reference management software, or they can be used within a Word document.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-cta  wsu-cta--width-inline\" >\n\t<a \t\t\t\t\thref=\"https:\/\/www.zotero.org\/\"\t\n\t\tclass=\"wsu-button \">\n\t\t\t\n\t\tZotero\u00a0(free)\t\t\t<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-cta  wsu-cta--width-inline\" >\n\t<a \t\t\t\t\thref=\"https:\/\/endnote.com\/\"\t\n\t\tclass=\"wsu-button \">\n\t\t\t\n\t\tEndNote\u00a0(paid)\t\t\t<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Most databases also include a citation generator for items found within their collections.
