Presenting “From Data to Story to Policy

Dr. Cole Allick is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Washington State University and a citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. His work bridges public health, health policy, and Indigenous methodologies to support equitable research and policy change in Tribal communities. Dr. Allick’s background spans roles in healthcare data analytics, community health needs assessments, and facilitating culturally grounded listening sessions across the Pacific Northwest. He plays a leadership role in the NIA-funded Natives Engaged in Alzheimer’s Research (NEAR) project, where he helps implement the “Brain Train” model to support community-engaged Alzheimer’s and dementia research. He is passionate about mentoring students, strengthening Tribal-academic partnerships, and weaving data and storytelling into systems-level policy change.
