DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the beginning of your pharmacy career! Pharmacy Prep Week is a week-long event to help new Doctor of Pharmacy students get to know their campus and classmates. The week will include a series of workshops\, networking sessions\, panels and tips to start pharmacy school on the right foot. We end the week with a White Coat Ceremony to commemorate the beginning of your student pharmacist journey. Join us August 17-21\, 2026. \n  \nInformation on how to register has been sent to all incoming Doctor of Pharmacy students enrolled for fall 2026\, and can also be found in your Admitted Student Portal. A detailed agenda will also be provided as the event gets closer\, including what to wear\, what to bring and what to expect. Pharmacy Prep Week is required for all new Doctor of Pharmacy students.

The donning of the white coat by pharmacy students is often seen as a symbol of professionalism\, trust and care. \nFamily and friends are welcome! This ceremony is open seating . There will also be a reception immediately following the ceremony on the WSU Spokane campus in the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences (PBS) building lobby. \nThis ceremony will not be livestreamed. \nThank you to Walgreens for their support of this event.

With deep roots in the Pacific Northwest\, Jeff has grown CPG into a network of 50+ pharmacies across Washington\, Oregon\, Idaho\, & Northern California\, pioneering a scalable model that strengthens independent pharmacies through shared resources\, operational efficiencies\, and innovative patient care services. \nA graduate of Washington State University\, Jeff began his career as a pharmacist before transitioning into ownership and leadership\, recognizing early on the need for independent pharmacies to adapt\, collaborate\, and evolve. Niazi is an internationally recognized pharmaceutical scientist\, entrepreneur\, author\, and innovator whose pioneering work has helped shape the global biosimilars industry. Throughout a career spanning more than five decades\, he has championed a singular mission: to make life-saving biological medicines more affordable and accessible for patients around the world. By advancing the science\, manufacturing\, and regulatory pathways of biosimilars\, Niazi has worked to reduce development costs while maintaining the rigorous standards of quality\, safety\, and efficacy required for these complex therapies. \nA 1971 graduate of Washington State University\, Niazi earned his Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences before completing his doctorate at the University of Illinois Chicago. His education laid the foundation for a distinguished career that has bridged academia\, industry\, entrepreneurship\, and public policy. Today\, he serves as an affiliate professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the WSU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences while advising biotechnology companies\, regulatory agencies\, and policymakers on the future of biologics and biosimilars. \nWidely regarded as one of the early pioneers of the biosimilars movement\, Niazi founded the first U.S. company dedicated to developing biosimilar medicines and has played an instrumental role in advancing regulatory science surrounding these therapies.
