{"id":3570,"date":"2025-06-23T14:38:13","date_gmt":"2025-06-23T21:38:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spokane.wsu.edu\/extra\/?p=3570"},"modified":"2025-08-25T10:14:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T17:14:11","slug":"jerry-crowshoe-named-director-of-native-american-health-sciences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spokane.wsu.edu\/news\/awards-achievements\/jerry-crowshoe-named-director-of-native-american-health-sciences\/","title":{"rendered":"Jerry Crowshoe Named Director of Native American Health Sciences"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Jerry Crowshoe has been named director of Native American Health Sciences after serving as interim director for six months, following two years as the department\u2019s assistant director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJerry\u2019s dynamic leadership and program development experience will enable Native American Health Sciences to expand its experiential learning opportunities for health science students and drive engagement with Indigenous communities,\u201d said Daryll DeWald, executive vice&nbsp;president for WSU Health Sciences and chancellor of WSU&nbsp;Spokane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crowshoe, an enrolled member of the Piikani Nation (Blackfoot Confederacy),&nbsp;has previously held leadership roles developing and coordinating community-based programs on topics such as positive youth development, suicide prevention, and trauma-informed care.
