{"id":5549,"date":"2025-09-11T14:10:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T21:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spokane.wsu.edu\/news\/?p=5549"},"modified":"2025-11-03T14:12:18","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T22:12:18","slug":"research-recruitment-stuttering-research-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spokane.wsu.edu\/news\/research\/study-recruitment\/research-recruitment-stuttering-research-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Research Recruitment: Stuttering Research Study"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are looking for individuals who stutter to participate in a study that will help us to understand how the brain processes speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>15+ years of age<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No hearing loss or uncorrected visual impairment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diagnosis of stuttering and no other cognitive\/communication impairment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did not stutter as a child and then grow out of it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Availability for 2 hours to visit the research lab<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Undergo EEG while viewing videos of people speaking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete questionnaires<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive a $25 gift card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For more information, please contact<\/strong> at David Jenson, PhD at david.jenson@wsu.edu or (509) 368-6913<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WSU Elson S.
