Counseling Services in Yakima

Welcome to WSU Yakima Counseling Services. Our office is here to provide a safe environment to help students explore the challenges of life and learning through counseling. We also provide consultation to faculty, staff, and parents who have concerns about a student. Payment of the student health fee covers our services, so there is no additional cost.

If you or someone you know is in crisis and needs immediate assistance from medical professionals or the police, call 911.

If you are in crisis and need to speak with someone, call the WSU Mental Health Crisis Line at 509-368-6500.

To make an appointment with a WSU Spokane Counselor, call 509-358-7740 during regular business hours or email sa.spok.counseling@wsu.edu. (Note: we no longer accept appointments via our form). If you need immediate assistance or are in crisis, please call the WSU Health Sciences Crisis Line at 509-368-6500 (available 24 hours/day).

If someone you know is in crisis
The best thing to do is to consult with Counseling Services at 509-494-7740.

Professional consultation will help you determine how you can best help the person you are concerned about. Often, your referral will result in a consultation appointment with our professional counseling staff.

It is a policy of crisis services to respond as quickly as possible to crisis calls regarding students, faculty, and staff. Your call to the crisis number will be answered by a trained staff member who will then have counseling staff contact you to discuss your concerns.

WellTrack Boost

WellTrack is an online self-directed therapy experience for managing depression and anxiety. WellTrack can be used as a self-help tool or in combination with counseling. WellTrack features a wellness assessment that students can take once or as needed, to help them understand how their daily activities are connected to how they feel.

WellTrack includes structured sections on managing depression and anxiety, tools and resources to deal with these issues, relaxation exercises, simulated situations to deal with specific concerns (including public speaking), and a “Zen Room” to assist with meditation.
