Services, Activities and Fees<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Services and Activities fees are one component of the total tuition and fees that students pay. S&A fees can only be used to support non-academic activities, events, facilities\/equipment, and programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Services and Activities (S&A) Fees Committee\u2019s functions are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Recommend allocation distributions for the student services and activities fees of the its designated campus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Review and approve the S&A fee percentage annually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Determine allocated fee expenditures are in agreement with state law and University policy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    \n\t\t\tWho can request funds? \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\n\n

    Any WSU Spokane group, organization or individual may request funds.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    What Can Funds Be Used For?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Service & Activities Fees are allocated for the express purpose of funding student services and activities and are not<\/strong> for the direct support of academic programs. State law requires that if programs funded are devoted to political or economic philosophies, a spectrum of ideas shall be presented. Other criteria for awarding funds are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Providing a student environment which contributes to cultural and social growth;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Providing services\/activities and facilities that are otherwise unavailable; and,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. A reasonable balance between events aimed at attracting the highest student attendance and events aimed at specific community and\/or cultural events.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

      \n\t\t\tSource of funding\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\n\n

      A portion of WSU Spokane student tuition is earmarked as \u201cServices and Activities (S and A) Fees.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
