Student Health Fee & Insurance<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Student Health Fee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All students enrolled for seven or more credit hours in the fall and spring semesters and one or more in the summer are required to pay a mandatory student health and wellness fee per term. The Student Health Fee provides you with access to both in-person and virtual mental health services through Student Counseling Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to note that this fee is not intended as a substitute for a health or medical insurance policy and does not cover care for dependents. Regardless of whether a student has government or private health care insurance, the university requires payment of the fee.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Student Health Fee is $130 per semester<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fall Semester<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Fall semester coverage begins on the Monday two weeks prior to the first day of classes<\/strong> and continues through December 31.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n

Spring Semester<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Spring semester coverage begins on January 1<\/strong> and continues through the week following commencement.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n

Summer Session<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Summer session coverage begins the Monday after commencement<\/strong> and continues one week after the last day of the final summer session.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Summer Health Fee<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Students who are enrolled in one or more credits in the summer are automatically charged the Health Fee. However, students returning in the Fall who are not enrolled in Summer can opt in and pay the fee to receive services. <\/p>\n\n\n

Student Health Insurance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While health insurance is not required for most students, WSU highly recommends that all students carry it. Insurance helps you pay for your medical and mental health bills by covering some of the cost of clinic visits and procedures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
