This is a place where everyone is welcome to use our space to study, hang out, learn new information, gain resources, form new friendships, and network with peers. We offer a comfortable area to study, eat, or relax. Feel free to visit our space to learn more about the opportunities and resources that we provide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading  wsu-heading--style-marked\">New Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All incoming international students (first-year and transfers) must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Attend&nbsp;the&nbsp;New&nbsp;International Student Tutorial (live,&nbsp;delivered&nbsp;on Zoom)&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the Canvas Tutorial (self-paced, online)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the New Student Check-in&nbsp;Form on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mypassport.wsu.edu\/istart\/controllers\/start\/start.cfm\">myPassport<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be fully enrolled&nbsp;(see below)&nbsp;in order&nbsp;to&nbsp;have the immigration status registered as ACTIVE.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Communicate with <a href=\"https:\/\/ip.wsu.edu\/isss\/studentservices\/\">International Student and Scholar Services<\/a> (ISSS) regarding maintaining your status while you are in the United States.\u202f&nbsp;Aaron Stevens is your international student advisor. You can reach him by email (check your inbox!) or via <a href=\"https:\/\/ip.wsu.edu\/isss\/studentservices\/f-1-overview\/\">open advising<\/a> (M-F, 1-3 pm) on Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please check your email for invitations to join the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ip.wsu.edu\/isss\/peer-mentors\/\">International Student Peer Mentor Program<\/a>. After signing up, you will be assigned a mentor who can answer questions regarding traveling to the U.S. and arriving in Spokane.&nbsp;Peer mentors will support new students throughout their first semester at WSU.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">F-1 Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are pursuing an undergraduate degree as a full-time student (12 or more credits per semester), you will most likely be issued an F-1 visa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An F-1 visa allows an international student to enter the United States to study in a language and\/or academic program. If you are studying at WSU on an F-1 visa, you must comply with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requirements, as well as WSU&#8217;s requirements.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-cta \" >\n\t<a \t\t\t\t\thref=\"https:\/\/ip.wsu.edu\/on-campus\/f-1-students\/overview\/\"\t\n\t\tclass=\"wsu-button \">\n\t\t\t\n\t\tLog in to see more F-1 student details\t\t\t<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">J-1 Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A J-1 student visa allows you to participate in study-based exchange programs in the United States.
