The Wellness Collaborative, thanks to the College of Pharmacy, is once again organizing a campus softball team to play in the summer of 2018. Sign-up to day to enjoy great people and fun times playing softball (managed by the City of Spokane Parks and Recreation).
The season will run for five weeks (Thursday evenings: 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.) beginning Thursday, July 19, and will play double-header games at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex or Franklin Park Softball Complex. To prepare for the season, we will hold three practices (5:30pm – 7:00pm) on July 10, 12 & 17 July 2018 at a location TBD (hopefully Franklin Park Softball Complex). We hope to have enough players to field two groups wherein more continuity of play among team members will happen during our games. With this in mind, even if you can only commit to one Thursday night, please sign-up and join in the fun!
The cost to play is FREE (again, thanks to the College of Pharmacy) and the suggested equipment you will need is a softball/baseball mitt, softball bat (optional) and a sturdy pair of shoes/cleats. Here are the rules of the league (PDF).
To register – deadline is 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22 – please sign-up by accessing the sign-up genius link to ensure your name, your WSU unit (College of Medicine; College of Nursing; College of Pharmacy or WSU-Spokane Campus), your contact phone number, your email address and your t-shirt size (Small, Medium, Large, XLarge, 2XLarge) are correctly submitted. For more information, please feel free to contact the team captain, Phil Boal, 509-368-6626 or (call or text) 509-847-9527.
If you’re not playing on the 2018 Campus Softball Team BUT love the game and want to support your colleagues, you can get team t-shirts ($12) and/or a team hat ($12 – one size fits all) by sending your name, contact phone number, email address and t-shirt size (Small, Medium, Large, XLarge, 2XLarge) to firstname.lastname@example.org and get to a game to cheer on the team!
Your team needs to hear you cheer as they play to win! Join in the fun – GO COUGS!
