Peirone Warehouse Comes Down, Makes Way for U-District Health Clinic
Crews brought down most of the Perione Warehouse on campus this morning as demolition work begins at the site of the future University District Health Clinic.
The U-District Health Clinic is expected to open in spring of 2016 and will be a 42,000 square foot residency clinic. It will serve has a teaching space for health sciences students from all disciplines.
The clinic is the staple of the Spokane Teaching Health Center (STHC), a consortium of WSU Spokane, Providence Health Care and Empire Health Foundation. It will offer an inter-professional approach to health sciences. Students from the colleges of Nursing, Pharmacy and Medical Sciences will be able to learn and work together in the clinic with actual patients.
