New Employee Orientation
Human Resource Services presents a New Employee Orientation that is designed as a 3-part workshop over the course of 1 day. In the morning, we conduct the first portion which is applicable to all employees. In the afternoon, we split off into 2 different retirement sections depending on what your employment type is; there are different retirement options for different employment types. All departments must have two people who have been trained in inputting hours for hourly staff and reviewing gross pay for departmental employees. You cannot access DEPTPAY without this training. Authorized access to DEPPS is a prerequisite to attending this course. See registration details and more information here. You must register to have a room assigned for this training session.

Initiative 1433, which was approved by Washington voters in 2016, requires employers to provide paid sick leave to most employees beginning January 1, 2018. Eligible employees will earn 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. This training covers the policies and processes WSU has implemented to comply with the new state law.
