Mechanical Heart Engineer to Lecture

The Nutrition and Exercise Physiology program will be hosting “Heart to Heart: From Mechanical Hearts to Heart Transplants“, a free academic lecture for students, faculty, and staff on March 24 from 12:00 – 2:30 in CCRS 260 (formerly South Campus Facility). Kelly Mesa, a mechanical heart engineer with Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, will present on the following topics: · What is a VAD and the indications for implementation · Who makes up the healthcare team · Meeting the needs of the patient’s heart
