This online workshop will show graduates how to use HEALWA to locate and use information resources that will allow WSU students to access reliable information as a practicing health professional. HRS Training – Cultural Competency Workshop
In this interactive workshop, the presenters will articulate WSU values related to equity and inclusive excellence as participants both in person and via AMS engage in exploring key terms related to equity and inclusion, examine notions of intent versus impact, and build knowledge around affirming language. This workshop is intended as a pilot to help shape a developmental series for participants to gain and build upon knowledge, skills, caring and action across the institution. APAC session – Interactive Mindfulness and Mental Awareness
Julia Hayes, owner of Souls Center in Spokane, will set the tone in the new year with a 15 minute mindfulness practice. Following this relaxing exercise, Dr. Matt Layton, psychiatrist and clinical professor with the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, will engage in understanding challenges in ourselves and others in a stressful environment. This workshop will include breakout sessions (in person and on Zoom) to discuss, how to identify whether what you are experiencing in your work, relationships and parenting is normal or dysfunctional.
