WSU Spokane welcomes new WSU President Kirk Schulz

Kirk Schulz

Kirk Schulz, the newly appointed president of Washington State University, visited the WSU Spokane campus last week with his wife, Noel.

Schulz was on his second stop of a statewide tour of WSU’s campuses. He told a standing room-only crowed that he was attracted to WSU in part because of its pursuit of a medical school. He also cited the state’s support of higher education as another reason.

Noel, who will be part of the Voiland College of Engineering, talked about her passion for STEM education and women in STEM careers.

Schulz, currently the president at Kansas State University, will begin his tenure at WSU in June.
