Spotlight Student: Erica Agrella

Erica Agrella

Editor’s Note: Spotlight Students are nominated by staff and faculty at WSU Spokane and are recognized during commencement for their dedication, commitment, sacrifice and/or ability to overcome great odds to succeed as a student. They are selected by a committee ahead of commencement. WSU Spokane will feature a Spotlight Student each day through May 13.

Erica Agrella is graduating from the WSU College of Nursing and a nursing career is a natural fit, given her knack for helping others.

During her time as a student, Agrella volunteered as a tutor to help students that needed additional help with their nursing coursework.

She gives back to the community through various volunteer and work opportunities at health clinics in the area, like Family Home Care, where she assists the elderly population.

Agrella also is a member of the College of Nursing’s Undergraduate Admissions and Progression board.

“She brings great insight from a student prospective to help the committee make admission and progression decisions,” her nominator wrote. “Her thoughtfulness and attention to details make her a valuable team member.”

Away from her studies, Agrella worked as a cheerleading coach and volunteered as a youth soccer coach in Spokane.

She will graduate summa cum laude and would like to become a neonatal intensive care nurse and eventually become a nurse practitioner.
