Winter Holiday Schedules for Campus Operations

WSU Spokane will observe reduced operations during the winter holiday period from Wednesday, December 24, through Friday, January 2. During this time, access to certain services and facilities will be limited.

Building Access

The exterior doors on campus facilities will be card-access only from December 24 through January 4. The building access schedules will return to regular business hours on Monday, January 5. Campus Security is on campus 24/7 and is always available to assist with access, vehicle escorts, and vehicle issues. Please call 509-358-7995 if you need assistance.

Parking

Parking over the winter holiday still requires a parking permit or day permit, but Green can park in the Orange parking lots during the holiday break (December 24 – Jan 1) for no additional charge. Questions can be directed to spokane.parking@wsu.edu.

The Bookie

The Bookie will be open regular business hours (10 AM – 4 PM) through Tuesday, December 23.

  • Dec. 24: 10 AM – 3 PM
  • Dec. 25-26: Closed
  • Dec. 30: 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Dec. 31: 10 AM – 3 PM
  • Jan. 1: Closed
  • Jan. 2: 10 AM – 4 PM

The Bookie will resume regular hours on Monday, January 5th. 

Health Sciences Library

The Health Sciences Library will be closed during the reduced operations period with no 24-hour access. Limited hours will be observed the week before the winter holiday.

  • Dec. 15-19: Staffed 10 AM – 2 PM with 24-hour access
  • Dec. 22-23: Staffed 10 AM – 2 PM with 24-hour access
  • Dec. 24- Jan. 4: Closed. No 24-hour access.

The Library will resume regular hours on Monday, January 5th. 

Riverpoint Café

The Riverpoint Café will operate on adjusted hours leading into the winter break.

  • Dec. 11: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Dec. 12: 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Dec. 15-18: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Dec. 19: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Dec. 22-Jan. 4: Closed

The cafe will resume normal operations on Monday, January 5. 

Student Affairs

The Student Affairs offices will be closed on December 24 and 25, and January 1. Staff will be working remotely on December 23 and December 26-31. Questions can be directed to Student Affairs staff at the contact information below.

Information Technology Services

WSU Spokane Information Technology Services will be closed on December 24th, December 25th, and January 1st and will observe reduced operations consistent with the university schedule.

If you have IT issues during this period, please contact the Technical Support Center at 358-7748 or spok.it.help@wsu.edu. Should you encounter a voicemail prompt, please leave a message, and TSC staff will return your call as soon as possible.

Logistics (Mailing, Shipping, Receiving Services)

Logistics will be closed on December 24th, December 25th, and January 1st and will observe reduced operations consistent with the university schedule. Please plan accordingly when ordering items that may be delivered during this timeframe. If you have concerns about orders already placed or expected deliveries, please contact us at spok.fac.ship@wsu.edu.

Deliveries

Friday, December 19, is the last day for mail and package delivery before the holiday closure and reduced operations begin. This includes logistics services for all WSU and EWU departments on the WSU Spokane campus.

Incoming Time & Temperature- Sensitive Shipments

Limit purchasing to only critical items and plan delivery to arrive before December 19 or after January 1. Carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, US Post Office, Office Depot, Amazon) will hold mail or packages and not deliver them to the WSU Spokane campus on December 24 or 25. Carriers will resume delivery on December 26, during reduced operations.

Outgoing Mail and Packages

Thursday, December 18, is the last day Logistics will pick up and process outgoing USPS mail and UPS shipments. On Friday, December 19, Logistics will only pick up and process outgoing FedEx shipments. Please hold all outgoing USPS mail, intercampus mail, and UPS shipments. During December 22-31, outgoing shipments are limited to critical shipments only. All non-urgent shipments should be held until after January 1.
