Second-year medical students Kiah Sullivan and Jamie Mackiewicz have organized a panel and discussion titled Immunization in the Anti-Vaxxer Era.
Panelists include local pediatricians Dr. Stephen Luber and Dr. Robert Maixner. Students, staff and faculty from all health professions are invited to attend.

Sleep and Performance Research Center Seminar Series

Dr. Kazue Semba will present “Astrocyte and microglia responses to sleep loss.” Dr. Semba is a Professor in the Department of Medical Neuroscience at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr. Semba’s research focus is on the neurobiology of sleep. Her approach is multifaceted, including basic cellular and molecular mechanisms of sleep/wake regulation, as well as cognitive and physiological consequences of chronic sleep loss. These questions are addressed using various combinations of behavioural, electrophysiological, anatomical, biochemical, and molecular techniques in rodent models. Provost and Executive Vice President Candidate presentation – Mitzi Montoya

Faculty, staff, and students system-wide are invited to meet and help evaluate finalists for the position of provost and executive vice president. Mitzi Montoya will give a public presentation and answer questions during an open session that will be broadcast to locations at each campus. The finalists also will be interviewed by search committee members, faculty, administrators and students. The next provost is expected to be announced in early May. Everyone is invited to attend.
