Community Standards, Conduct & Title IX

Community Standards and Academic Integrity

All WSU Spokane students are expected to contribute to a safe, healthy, and inclusive campus. We are here to help guide and correct behaviors that may not align with our values. We challenge students to make better choices with opportunities for educational and personal development, as well as accountability.

WSU Spokane works directly with the WSU Center for Community Standards on the Pullman campus. All students, regardless of campus, are held to the same Standards.

You can find WSU’s Standards of Conduct in the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) Chapter 504-26.

We are available to help students understand our community standards and the process for when those standards are violated. Note that all communications from the Center for Community Standards will be sent to students’ @wsu.edu e-mail addresses.

Title IX: Discrimination & Harassment

Title IX reads, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

The Title IX Committee is formally charged with advising the president of Washington State University on matters relating to the university’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. These deal with nondiscrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities receiving or benefiting from federal financial assistance.
