Biography
Mikki is a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, supporting WSU Health Science students through a holistic, strengths-based, and humanistic approach to therapy. She tailors her work to the unique and varied needs of each individual, integrating a range of therapeutic modalities—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy—to equip students with practical tools for emotional wellness and positive change.
Mikki considers each student’s cultural background, upbringing, and personal experiences, including trauma, to help them explore their feelings and develop new ways of thinking and engaging with themselves and others. She emphasizes self-compassion, resilience, and fostering empowerment, addressing immediate challenges like stress and unhelpful habits, while promoting holistic well-being and exploring deeper personal meaning.
Her empathic, collaborative approach meets students where they are, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where they feel seen, supported, and connected to their intrinsic worth.
As a board-certified health and wellness, life, and managerial coach, Mikki provides well-rounded support to those balancing their well-being with demanding academic and clinical responsibilities, empowering students to explore and manage their emotions and patterns.
Mikki provides services to both both in-person and remote counseling services through Zoom or Teams.
