Legislative Branch
The legislative branch consists of the Student Senate. These senators are elected each spring by the student body and any remaining seats are filled during a special election during Fall semester. Senate seats are allocated on a proportional basis; meaning the more students enrolled in a program, the more senators there are from that program.
Meetings are bi-weekly on Thursdays starting at 6:30 PM on Zoom.
If you would like to attend a senate meeting, please request zoom link from ASWSUHS at spok.aswsu.vp@wsu.edu.

Senate Funding Requests
What are senate funding requests?
Each year, the Services and Activities Fees Committee approves a budget to fund student programs supported through the services and activities fee included in your tuition. The Senate manages and allocates these funds during biweekly public meetings.
Who can request funding?
Requests can be submitted by any WSU Spokane enrolled student.
How much can I request?
Requests are capped at $1,000 each; however, if you have an extenuating circumstance, please include this in your request submission.
How can I use the funds?
Since funding is allocated based on total campus enrollment, interprofessional events hosted by Registered Student Organizations receive priority over individual requests. Depending on available resources, individuals may request reimbursement for expenses related to their academic or professional development.
How long does the process take?
Requests should be submitted at least 4–6 weeks before the intended event date to allow the Senate sufficient time to convene, vote, and forward approved requests to the HUB for payment processing. Supplies will be purchased through the HUB, while reimbursements will be issued directly to individual students.
Where do I access the submission form?
WSU Spokane Involve > Sign in > Forms > ASWSUHS Senate Funding Request 2025–2026.
